Day 2 - Building the shed

We have spent the day working so hard with the aim to getting the walls completed but they were a little more tricky then we thought. We have worked the last two weekends in a row and last weekend was spent setting up the trade show so we missed out on our bank holiday. Tomorrow we are taking the day off and spending it on the shed I do hope the weather stays as gorgeous as it has been.

I have been thinking about the finishing touches and thought that we should wood clad the shed and make some scolloped panels to edge the roof. Not sure as to the the window or door yet, cant find any cute wood ones at the DIY stores so tomorrow I am going to pop into a salvage yard and see if there are any that would suit.

Neither Christian or I have made a building from scratch before and this has been a great learning curve. We have both wanted to build our own colonial style wooden home for some time now so this has been really fun, so far!

Day 1 - Building the shed

We managed to get the floor joists finished by the end of today ready for the floor tomorrow. The sun shone all day and we had fun cutting and sawing wood. The timber supplies arrived at 10.30am and then it was full steam ahead, lots of measuring and double checking before cutting the 6"x2" joists. But we have the strongest suspended base to work from, well done Christian you are a clever bloke.

I need a new shed

The time has come to dismantle our old shed, the roof leaked beyond repair and the door no longer shut or even held it self together no matter how many nails we banged into it. So when we heard that the weather was going to be wonderful this weekend and we still had the hire van from the show yesterday we didn't hesitate and out came the crow bar. The van was filled and off to the dump we went, but now for the tricky bit. The plot we have is rather an odd shape and to maximise the space we will have to build from scratch our own shed. I have been looking for pretty garden sheds and have found some delightful photos on the web, which one should we go for?

The timber has been ordered and will be arriving tomorrow morning. A supply of sun screen and plasters are to hand.

Last day PG Live 2009

The last day of PG Live was today and the brand new show was a great hit, a fab complementary lunch both days and all day refreshments kept us all fed and watered. Thank you for dropping by, we had a lovely time chatting and catching up. The new wedding ranges were extremely well received and the new jewellery collection was a smash hit. See you at Harrogate in July, thanks again x.

PG LIVE 2009

We have spent all weekend getting ready for a brand new show starting on Wednesday, Progressive Greetings Live. Chopping, cutting and painting in the sun and yesterday we were at the venue laying the floor. We have just a few more bits to do this morning before jumping in the car and finishing the stand of. I do hope you can come and see us as we have a few surprises to show you.

More wonderful pictures from Forest Garden Centre, what a gorgeous wedding display.

I love seeing how the Cavania stockists display all their goodies and Forest Garden centre certainly knows how to put items together to make a great story and a fabulous eye catching display.

New Jewellery Collection

At Last my new jewellery collection has arrived and here are a few photos, full collection will be on our website soon. www.cavaniacards.co.uk or call for your agent to visit and show you the full range.

I made this one for Faye as she is my little Rock Chick, 14 on Thursday.

I have been painting canvases and playing with different paint effects, so we have put them to good use and thought they would make great back drops for the jewellery.
