Inspirational Stores & Display Ideas

I often stop and look at window displays and love the creativity and effort that some stores put into their window displays. When I used to dress the windows for mine and my Mums gift stores I really enjoyed making props and theming the products. Its surprising what a difference changing the window made to catching the attention of passers by and the over all shop sales.

Wedding Cake Topper

I spent today in the warm looking at the snow from my studio window and making the topper for the wedding cake I made a short while ago. It is another prop for the Spring Fair in February, I have decided to go for the complete wow factor on my stand this year. So many hours of work ahead of me!!! The topper today took five and a half hours to make, twisting wires and threading sequins, beads and buttons from my Grandmothers button box. I have soar fingers now but I think it was worth it. Now for the center piece to go inside the topper and to decorate the cake base its self...... tomorrow.

Keeping Warm

This was the start of today and my view for the morning whilst painting furniture for Top Drawer.
What a day it has been here in the UK, It seems that the majority of the UK has woken to another blanket of snow. I have been snuggled up in my studio making more props for the Spring Fair in February. Faye was off school today and the office was opened, Gemma braved the weather and came to work on the bus. James did the trek but left half day as it took him 3hrs to do the 20 minute return journey when the last snow came before Christmas last year! I hope you are all safe and having a little fun in the snow. If there is no school again tomorrow Faye and I are going to make a 'Snow Bunny'

This was taken just before the light went on the day, my little shed looks so cute under it's blanket of snow.

Pretty Corsages

I have been making lots of props for our Spring Launch ad campaign for Jan 2010, here are a few sneaky photos. I made some corsages from scrumptious satins and organza in beautiful shades and colours, then sewed glass beads on them so each one was different. They started life as props for the photo shoots to compliment our new pottery hearts and birds, but I love the look of them and have decided to offer them as a Cavania line.

They will be available for stores to order at the Spring Fair NEC Birmingham in February. We have many vintage inspired fashion accessories that beautifully complement our hand made glass jewellery. The new collection of accessories will include corsages, beaded broaches, clutch purses and hair bands. I cant wait to decorate the stand with all the other props I have made.....I will take some more photos soon. xxx
